Dimming Philips GrowWise LED lighting
In collaboration with Philips, SERCOM recently developed a product that allows the connection of the Philips GrowWise Control System to the Sercom process computer. These combined products enable the grower to easily adjust the light intensity in the greenhouse from 0-100%. Additionally, this system offers the option to modify the colour of the lighting for each group.
By using specially designed software installed on an SC400 computer, the connection between the Philips GrowWise Control System via TC-IP modbus and the SC400 on one end, and the SC400 with the Sercom process computer already present in the greenhouse on the other end is established. A standard RS485 communication cable is utilised for the latter connection, with the option to make it wireless.
The decision to use the SC400 as an adapter between the GrowWise Control System and the Sercom process computer was intensional. This configuration provides greater flexibility and eliminates the need for extensive software modifications to the existing computer. In addition to purchasing the GrowWise Control System, simply adding an SC400 is all that is needed to control the lamp groups.
