A simple system that cools the greenhouses
In hot regions of the world, it is essential to lower the temperature in greenhouses. With SKOV-SERCOM tunnel ventilation, you can ensure the correct climate inside the greenhouse, even during high external temperatures.
In a Tunnel ventilation system, the air intake is located on the sides or at the house end of the greenhouse. This air intake is fitted with cooling pads to lower the temperature of the incoming air. The cooling takes place when fresh air passes through cooling pads that are kept damp by trickling water. The fresh air is cooled when it absorbs water vapor from the cooling pads. DA 100B/150B is a complete cooling pad system that is very flexible and easily adaptable to
most house types. In contrast to other cooling systems, there is no need for a separate water tank. The tank is integrated with the lower gutter and is thus part of the gutter system.
Depending on the humidity levels, this system can help reduce the temperature to optimise growing conditions within the greenhouse. Tunnel ventilation benefits:
- A simple system with low initial costs
- Ideal for subtropical and tropical regions, delivering high air velocity and effective cooling control
- A cost-effective solution for reducing temperatures in greenhouses
- Advanced cooling controls ensure a stable climate
- An automated system that operates independently
At the opposite end of the tunnel, large gable fans generate a cooling air current, creating a chill effect that travels along the length of the greenhouse.
The gable fans are developed for maximum air output at low energy consumption. The outlets are very pressure stable, which means that they are not affected by wind conditions around the house, which provides a stable climate in the house under all conditions. The fans can be used anywhere in the world, and we have tested the units in extremely hot and cold climates. They are exceptionally robust under all weather conditions and have a very long service life.
