Wireless connection between main computer and field stations and fertiliser dosing systems
In 2018, SERCOM developed a radio-wave-based system that can control irrigation units within a 5-kilometre radius. This method has also been used for several years in open-field cultivation, particularly in fruit growing and tree nurseries.
This unique technology offers the certainty that each field station is individually and directly connected to the main computer. While with cable connections all other field stations can fail in the event of a fault or damage, this always remains constant with a radio connection.
